Mr. Bylsma is a Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization. He has practiced Family Law exclusively since 2014, representing clients in matters involving divorce, paternity, custody, property division, spousal and child support, and domestic violence. Drawing on his prior background in complex business litigation, he brings a sophisticated and strategic approach to high-asset and high-conflict family law disputes.
Mr. Bylsma earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served in student government and as a Justice on the Student Supreme Court. During law school, he externed for Family Court Judge Steven A. Pestka and the Honorable William McCurine of the Southern District of California – San Diego. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, graduating cum laude from the University of Michigan in 2003.
